Dr. Terri Talbert-Hatch is the Associate Dean for Recruitment, Retention, and Student Services in the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI. In this role she oversees student recruitment, scholarships, residential-based learning communities, new student advising, and career services. She also serves as the faculty advisor for the Engineering & Technology Student Council and Society of Women Engineers including the all-female go-kart teams that participates annually in the Purdue Grand Prix. She has working on the IUPUI campus since January, 2000. Prior to joining the University she worked 20+ years in the insurance industry. Terri is currently the Chair of the IUPUI Orientation Advisory Council and serves on various campus committees including the Council on Retention and Graduation and the Equal Opportunity Council. Terri participates with the Dean's Industry Advisory Council serving on the Diversity Recruitment and Retention Council and the Motorsports Industry Advisory Council. She has a faculty appointment with the Motorsports Engineering program. Terri created a summer- residential program for high school girls to learn about engineering with financial support from local businesses. In 2016, the POWER camp, in its 11th year, hosted 66 high school girls from all over the US. She is also active with VEX and FIRST Robotics, serving on the Steering Committee for the Indianapolis VEX City Championship and judging at several state events. Terri has received numerous campus awards including Outstanding Woman Staff leader in 2011 and Student Organization Advisor of the Year and Outstanding Student Government Administrator of the Year in 2010. She was the recipient of the School of Engineering & Technology Doris H. Merritt Outstanding Leadership award in 2008 and 2013.
