    Dr. Robert Weissbach is the Chair of the Department of Engineering Technology at Indiana University – Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI). Prior to pursuing his doctoral studies, he worked at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division on the design and construction of submarine turbine generator sets. His research interests are in Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, and Engineering Education. He has recently been awarded funding from the National Science Foundation on a multi-institutional grant to improve engineering student writing competency using non-technical peer writing tutors. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, and serves as a Program Evaluator for ABET in their Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC). He has also served the Engineering Technology Division of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) as Vice-Chair for Annual Programs, Division Chair, and Past-Chair.
