Dr. Varma-Nelson is recognized for her notable accomplishments in science and to the ACS community.
Contribution to the science/profession: Work on face-to-face and cyber versions of Peer Led Team Learning has facilitated understanding of learning chemistry in small groups in the two environments and effective dissemination of innovations.
Contribution to the ACS community: Recognized for providing fundamental support to chemists implementing peer teaching methods, serving in multiple capacities within the Division of Chemical Education, and providing national service to C&EN.
